Urban Decay Hydromaniac Review

I have been seeing this new foundation by Urban Decay all over Instagram, so I thought I would give it a try for myself. It is called the Hydromaniac Tinted Glow Hydrator. It is a medium, buildable coverage foundation that is supposed to last up to 24 hours and look natural as well. It is good for all skin types and it’s also supposed to minimizes pores and imperfections with a smooth, blurring effect.

Everything it says it does is all the things I look for in a foundation. The number one thing I like in a foundation is probably a weightless feeling. I don’t really like a heavy looking or feeling foundation. I also love a dewy/glowy look. I have more normal-oily combination skin, so I should probably like a more matte foundation, but give me all the glow!

The first thing I want to say about this product is it oxidizes quite a bit, meaning once you put it on it gets darker. I had bought shade 41 and when I got some out it looked perfect, but then I put it on and it was wayyyy too dark. I ended up getting shade 30 and it was much better! So definitely go down a shade or two from what you think you would be if you decide to give it a try.

When I tried the darker shade the first time I put it on with my hands and didn’t really like it that way, so when I tried it the second time I used a damp beauty sponge and that was way better. It is a little thicker, that’s why I didn’t really like my hands, but it may have been better if I would have put less on at first. I always tell people try one way and then the next time you wear it try a different way and see which way you like best! You can also use a brush if you prefer that.

Once I used a sponge and got my right color I loved the product! It has such a pretty glowy/dewy finish and it looks very natural. It also felt really lightweight which I also loved. I wore it for about 7 hours and it lasted really well and still had a glow to it. I did set it with a powder so that did take a little of the glow away, but it still looked really pretty. I had to wear a mask for a little while so it did come off my nose and chin a little, but it wasn’t much at all. I even wore a hat and I don’t think it came off my forehead at all! It didn’t really blur my pores though like it says, but that’s not really a big deal to me.

My final verdict, I definitely recommend this product. I have to admit, I haven’t been an Urban Decay fan in a while so I was a little skeptical, but I really like this new foundation. I will go ahead and link it here for y’all if you want to check it out yourself. Just remember to get a shade or two LIGHTER than you think. Also, don’t be afraid to return it or exchange it if it’s the wrong color, even if you have tried it you can take it back at most places, especially right now since we can’t test it.

Have y’all tried this new foundation yet? If you have what are your thoughts on it? If you haven’t, are you wanting to try it now? Let me know what you think about it in the comments!
