Do You Make Goals or Resolutions?

Alicia BiceComment

Normally I am so excited for a new year and can’t wait to write down my goals and get started, but this year I was sick on New Year’s Eve. What does that have to do with my New Year’s goals might you ask? Well, I was laid up on the couch all week watching Netflix and I got lazy. When I am off and don’t have anything to do for a while it is so hard for me to get back into my normal routine, especially after the holidays. Now that I I’m slowing getting back to my routine, I have decided it is time to get my butt in gear. Last week I posted a YouTube video sharing some of my goals and a few tips to hopefully help y’all with your goals, so I thought I would share in a blog post as well. I will link my video down below if y’all want to check that out too.

First I want to share some tips that are helping me with my goals, then I want to share a few goals I’m working on this year. The first thing I want you to do is write down all your goals if you haven’t already. By writing them down you are acknowledging them and it makes them more than just thoughts. If you are more of a visual or creative person, make a vision board. If you aren’t sure what that is, it is basically just putting pictures to your goals. You can cut pictures from magazines, print pictures out, or even draw your own. I have a YouTube video and blog post on how to make one that I will link here and here. Once you have your vision board or list of goals, I want you to put it somewhere you will see it every day. Seeing it all the time will help you make little changes to achieve your goals.

Something that has helped me the most and is probably my number one piece of advice would be to break down your goals. If you have money goals, a following goal, or anything to do with numbers, set smaller goals throughout the year. If that doesn’t make sense let me give you an example. My number one goal for this year is to reach 1,000 subscribers on my YouTube channel. If I look at that goal vs where I am, it can be pretty overwhelming, so I have smaller goals that I am aiming for each month. 600 by March 1, 700 by April 1, 800 by May 1, 900 by June 1, and 1000 by July 1. I would love to get there sooner, but I will be happy no matter when I get there. Hopefully that makes more sense if you weren’t sure what I meant.

Now, I wanted to share a few of my goals with y’all. As I just mentioned my number one goal for 2020 is to reach 1,000 subscribers on my YouTube channel. The reason I want to reach that number is because once I get there I can monetize my channel, which means I can start making money with it. I hope y’all don’t think that is the only reason I do YouTube videos, because it is 100% not. Being able to monetize my channel opens more doors for me and creates bigger opportunities. I would love for this to one day be my job/career, and that is one of the things that will get me closer.

Another big goal is to have my first paid collaboration. With that being said, I want y’all to know I will NEVER post or talk about a product I don’t like or share a company I don’t believe in or agree with. Yall’s trust is my number one priority and I pride myself on being real and authentic. You will ALWAYS get the 100% truth from me.

My other goals aren’t really in a specific order, I just want to work on them all year. I would love to reach 10,000 followers on Instagram, 1,000 followers on LikeToKnowIt, pay off/work on my student loans, pay off my car, and save more money. Not sure if I can pay off any loans, but I want to work real hard at getting them lower. I should be able to at least pay off my makeup school loan this year, and I’ll take that.

Anyways, I hope my tips will help y'all and make your goals seem less intimidating. I also hope you enjoyed seeing some of my goals for the year. I would love to hear some things y’all are working toward for 2020, so let me know in the comments!
