Spring at Target

Alicia BiceComment

It has been a while since I’ve done a try-on in store, so I thought I would go to Target and try some of their new spring clothes. I am so glad I went because I found so many good things! May have even got a couple things, anddddd added some to my cart online, haha.

Be prepared to see a lot of pink. Everything I share in pink does come in other colors though if pink isn’t your favorite, so don’t worry, lol.

I wanted to share my favorite outfit first. This set is sold separate, but only $45 if you buy both. There are so many colors and prints in these shorts, and you can get a matching top in this relaxed fit style or a cropped button up. I love that if you buy both you can wear them separate or together. This would also be a good swim suit cover up! I’m wearing a small in the shorts and a medium in the top, but need a small in the top since its a relaxed fit. You can size down in the top or get your true size for a more oversized look.

Here is that same set in olive green. I passed on this one but wanted to share for my non pink lovers, lol. In this picture i’m wearing a small in the shorts that fit well and have pockets, and the shirt is an XS but I need a small.

Here is the crop shirt that matches the shorts. I really like the crop version, but I would have to wear it with different bottoms because when I pull these shorts up high waisted, my butt hangs out, haha. Big booty probs. I am wearing a medium in the shorts here because I wanted to see if the length was better, but they are too big around the waist even with the drawstring, so I will stick to the small shorts.

T-shirt dresses are my absolute favorite! I have several that I got at Target last year, and this is a new style this year. The scrunch on the side is adjustable and this comes in several colors as well. I am wearing a small.

Here is that same dress in this teal color. I almost got this one but remembered I have a similar color of the other style lol. I honestly want this dress in all the colors though.

I love a good ribbed tank dress because they are so easy to just throw on and go, but in my opinion this length on me is not the most flattering. I’m about 5’5” for reference on where it hits me. I think maxi or above the knee length works best for my body shape. This also comes in other colors and I’m wearing a medium. Runs tts.

Ok yall I am obsessed with this top! I love the little bow and the color. I didn’t know this until I got home and was linking everything, but it has a matching skirt! I definitely need this set! The straps are adjustable, the back is stretchy, and it is cropped. I’m wearing a small.

Yall know the color of this top is my favorite. I’m wearing a small in this one too, but it was a little tight in the bust. If I had on sticky boobs it probably would have fit better. It also has adjustable straps and a stretchy back. This has a matching skirt as well, but it is honestly not my favorite. The skirt I have on here is not Target, but I did link it for yall. It’s currently sold out, but they do restock a lot so put your email to be notified!

The last thing I have to share is this cute smocked tank. It is another crop tank that is stretchy and comfortable. I am wearing a small in this and I am able to wear a regular bra, which is always a plus for me.

I ended up going back to Target and I wanted to try on some other colors and style and I found this dress. I wasn’t sure about it at first, but when I put it on I fell in love. It is smocked and stretchy around the bust and IT HAS POCKETS!! Need I say more. I’m wearing a small.

Somehow I missed this ribbed tank dress last time I was there but found it this time! This length is more flattering on my body shape and this definitely went home with me. I love the color and style! I’m wearing a small.

Hopefully yall enjoyed this little Target try-on. Let me know in the comments which outfit is your favorite. So many good things! Just click on the picture to shop and I will also link everything here.

Valentine's Day Outfit Ideas

Alicia BiceComment

I think Valentine’s Day is fun and romantic, even though some people don’t think it’s a holiday. I probably like it so much because everything is pink and I am a hopeless romantic. Anyways, I thought I would share some of my favorite outfit ideas for any Valentine’s Day activities you may have coming. Whether you have a date with your significant other or you are just hanging out with some friends, I hope you will find something for inspiration. A lot of these outfits you can dress up or down too. I wanted to add some shoes and accessories as well in case y’all need any ideas accessorizing. Most of the outfits are from The Pink Lily Boutique which is online or a store front in Bowling Green, KY. All the clothes besides the pink jumpsuit are under $50, and all the shoes are too except for the red heels with the cut-out. They are from Nordstrom and pretty expense, but gorgeous! All the accessories are from Target and all the shoes are too except for the pair from Nordstrom. Everything in the entire post is under $100.

Favorite Holiday Shoes

Alicia BiceComment

I have been buying quite a few pairs of shoes lately, so I thought I would share some of my favorites I have gotten that would be great for the holidays. There are only a couple pairs that aren’t the most comfortable, but if you wear them to a Christmas party you should be able to sit some, haha. I will go ahead and talk about those two first.

The most uncomfortable pair is definitely the Jessica Simpson rhinestone booties. They are gorgeous and are completely covered in rhinestones. That is what makes them not the most comfortable because they are pretty stiff. I haven’t worn them a whole lot, so it’s possible they may get less stiff after wearing them a while. For this outfit I’m just wearing black jeans, a black sweater, and this beautiful hot pink faux fur jacket. This outfit is in the middle of casual and dressy in my opinion. The shoes kind of dress it up a little.

The second pair is actually not too bad because the soles are cushioned, but they are still heels so after a while they will probably hurt. They will also really hurt if you hit your leg or ankles with the other shoe because they have sharp spikes on them. In all honestly, I think these would make great self defense shoes and they are so cute too! They even came with a warning paper about being sharp, so I thought that was funny.

The shoes I probably wear the most and go with the most outfits, is my black over the knee boots. Y’all are probably tired of seeing them but I love them. They truly do go with so many different outfits and the ones I have are so comfortable and I can wear them all day. I don’t think they are available right now, but they come back every now and then. I can leave a link for them and you can put in your email to let you know when they come back in stock. They were only $35, so that makes them even better! I got them in taupe too. As you can see I have them over jeans and the other picture I’m wearing a dress. I have also worn them with shorts and rompers.

The last pair isn’t really “holiday” attire, but I love them and I think they dress up a more casual outfit. They are leopard print booties. I think they go with so many different outfits because leopard is a neutral. If you would rather dress casual and comfy for your Christmas dinners/parties, these are a great way to add a little something without dressing it up too much. There are also several different pairs at different price points. The pair I’m wearing below are from Target and the picture of just the shoes are from Wal-Mart!

I think any one of these pairs would be great for a Christmas party or for New Years. I especially love the rhinestone ones for NYE. Like I was saying, those are probably the most uncomfortable, but the rest should be fine for standing/walking in. If you wanted to get one pair on this post, I would do the over the knee boots or leopard. They both go with so many different outfits, but black is a solid color that would probably go with more. It also depends on if you want to stand out a little more or not. Let me know which pair is your favorite!

Basic Skincare Routine: Guest post with Skin by Jonathan

Alicia BiceComment

(Links are AFFILIATE links and i do make a small commission if used at no additional cost to you)

I love skincare and I know some basics, but as I mentioned in a recent post it’s not my area of expertise. With that being said, I asked my friend Jonathan Wolfenbarger who is a licensed esthetician to do a guest post on basic skincare. He explains more about skin types and how to figure out which one you are if you aren’t sure. He also shares some products you need to start a good skincare routine. He mentions high end products as well as more affordable options. I will link his instagram here for y’all to check out. He has more tips on his story highlights labeled tips. Without further ado, here is Jonathan’s information.

The first step to caring for your skin is to determine your skin type: Dry, Normal, Combination, and Oily are the main skin types, and each need different maintenance. Dry skin is characterized by tightness, dullness, and lack of elasticity. Normal skin is supple, few to no visible pores, and is seemingly radiant with low level maintenance. Combination skin types can be a combination of: dry/oily, normal/dry, or normal/oily. Combination types tend to have larger pores focused in just the t-zone, often with blackheads. Oily skin can be recognized by having large pores, thick complexion, and are prone to blemishes. Humidity, stress, and puberty are a few non-hereditary causes of oily skin.

If you’re still uncertain, that’s okay! Here is a basic routine you can do that is good for helping regulate all skin types.

•Resting Cleanser (day & night)

•Active Cleanser (every other day/night)

•Moisturize (day & night)

•SPF (day)

Resting cleansers are cleansers that are pH balanced but do not contain exfoliating properties such as acids or enzymes. Two of my favorite resting cleansers are the Sanitas Lemon Cream Cleanser (high end) and the CeraVe Foaming Cleanser (more affordable). The Lemon Cream Cleanser contains an antioxidant blend that helps detoxify and promote skin renewal. Both are great for all skin types.

Active cleansers are cleansers that contain acids (glycolic, salicylic, lactic, etc.) or enzymes. These should be used only every other day/night to help exfoliate and renew skin and decongest pores. My favorite active cleanser is the Sanitas Glycolic Citrus Cleanser. It encourages cell rejuvenation, exfoliates dead skin, and removes impurities. It works well with all skin types.

Moisturizing is a key point in treating your skin and maintaining a good complexion. People who have oily/combo tendencies tend to stray from moisturizer; however, it’s crucial to training your skin and regulating oil production. For the past two years, I’ve been using the Vita Rich Serum. This hydrating, reparative serum retextures skin and accelerates skin renewal. It contains only vitamins and essential fatty acids to strengthen and repair. It works great as a stand-alone moisturizer, and should be paired with SPF!

Your choice of SPF is important. You should always make sure your sunscreen contains only Zinc Oxide and/or Titanium Dioxide. These are the safest natural protection for the skin. I recommend the Solar Block from Sanitas or the CeraVe Sunscreen. The Sanitas Solar Block contains an antioxidant blend (protects DNA from UV damage and environmental exposure). Both contain Zinc Oxide to provide UV protection.

This is a simple start to working on your complexion at home. Once you regulate your skin using this routine, you can further assess your skin type and see if there are any changes.

I hope y’all enjoyed reading Jonathan’s great advice! I will also link his website here if y’all want to check out all the services he offers. He is in Knoxville so if y’all are local you should definitely stop by! He sells Sanitas products where he works, so if you want to purchase any of the products he mentioned you can stop by and if he doesn’t have what you were looking for he can order it for you. If you want to read more about Sanitas I will link their website here and if you aren’t local to Knoxville I will link a website where you can buy Santias online here. CeraVe is sold at Ulta and most drugstores such as Walgreens, Rite Aid, Walmart, Target, CVS, etc. If you have any other skincare concerns or questions you can message me or you can reach out to Jonathan on Instagram. Let me know if y’all want Jonathan to do another skincare post in the comments!

Best. Red. Shoes. Ever.

Alicia BiceComment

Y’all should already know I wasn’t done posting about animal print, but the main focus of this post is definitely these beautiful red shoes! Now don’t get me wrong I love this shirt and these jeans are my favorite, but THESE SHOES! If I could add the heart eyes emoji right now I would add 10. I do have to say they are not very comfortable to stand in for long periods of time, but honestly who cares, I am so obsessed with them. You can see here I am wearing them with jeans and a blouse and I think they would also look super cute with these jeans and a band tee as well. If you wanted to do that I would get one that had pops of red. I know band tees are popular right now so you can get them pretty much anywhere, but I know Hot Topic and Target always has them at reasonable prices.

The pants I got at Old Navy and these are the ones I talked about in my closet staples post, and you can read that here if you missed it. This top I have actually had for a while and I got it at Target. I have been seeing it one everyone lately, but I still love it. It is really comfortable and I think it would look cuter front tucked, but I always have so much on my mind shooting I forgot to tuck it. Oh well. As for the beautiful, most perfect red shoes ever, I got them from Nordstrom. Well, I guess technically they aren’t the “perfect” pair since they aren’t very comfortable, but they are definitely the prettiest. I will say they are a little pricey, but in my opinion they are worth it because they’re so cute!

As always I will link everything on the pictures as well as my shop tab. If y’all haven’t shopped at Nordstrom before you should definitely check it out. It is my newest weakness. The closest one to me is in Nashville, but even closer is the app, haha.

Target Boot Sale Picks

Alicia BiceComment

I know y’all love a good sale as much as I do, so I thought I would share this awesome one with y’all! You probably know by now how much I love Target and how much I shop there, and lately I have been getting so many clothes and shoes there. They have really stepped up their apparel and accessory game! Right now Target is having a BOGO sale on all their boots, which means buy one get one 50% off! Current season items usually don’t go on sale, that’s I wanted to share this one with y’all. If you see some you like I would go ahead and get them because I’m not sure how long this sale will last. I haven’t seen an end date anywhere unless I’m just missing it.

I ended up buying three pair and there were two more that I really wanted but they weren’t available in my size. I still wanted to share them though in case y’all love them and they have them in your size. Two pairs are actually the same boot just two different colors. I may end up returning one, but I wanted to get them both in case I loved them both. You can never go wrong with a pair of black booties and these are so cute and kind of look like a cowboy boot but more of a for looks cowboy boot if that makes sense. I also got them in white which I’m really excited about because I don’t have any white booties. Both of these were $39.99 each, but I got the second pair for 50% off.

The last pair I purchased are a really pretty cognac color bootie. I actually don’t have a brown pair of booties either, so I’m super excited about these. Most of my booties are black, so I need to venture out more with different colors. I think these are going to be the perfect brown booties. These were $34.99.

Now I will show y’all the two pairs that I wasn’t able to get. The first pair is a great dupe for a pair from Free People. I will post the Free People ones right under the Target pair so you can see how similar they are. The Target ones are $32.99 and the FP are $198, so you can see a HUGE price difference. I will say I haven’t tried on either pair so I’m not sure how comfortable either one are, but I would probably still go with the Target pair even if the FP were super comfortable. Even though I wouldn’t consider these booties, they are still part of the BOGO. Both pairs come in different colors, but the cognac is my favorite of all the colors. I do believe the Free People ones are real leather so that is probably why they cost more.

The last pair I didn’t know if I wanted to get or not because they are snakeskin print and I just got a pair similar. I decided I did want them to see which one I liked better, but of course they didn’t have my size in stock. That was probably a sign that I didn't need them, but like I said I still wanted to post about them in case y’all loved them and wanted them. These are $37.99.

So those are my picks from the Target boot sale. They also have a lot of cute over the knee boots as well, but I wear booties more so I got some of those. Let me know if y’all plan to shop the boot sale!

Leopard Print, Cheetah Print, Snake Skin, Oh My!

Alicia BiceComment

I have always loved leopard print, probably a little too much if I’m being honest, and it is FINALLY in style, haha! I usually don’t worry if something is on trend or not, if I like it, I buy. More than likely if it’s in store it’s going to be on trend, but what I’m getting at, is if I see something hideous on the runway I’m not going to go out and buy it just because it was at New York Fashion Week. If you like to buy things that are trending there is nothing wrong with that at all, so I hope I don’t offend anyone by saying that. I am just letting y’all know how I shop. Anyways, I try to be as open and honest with y’all as I can, so I do have to admit there were several trends over the summer that I almost gave into and bought because “everybody had them” and I wanted to post them on my blog/instagram. I didn’t cave though because if I didn't truly like the items and didn’t want to wear them personally I didn’t want to post them. I only post items that I truly like and products I believe in. The animal print trend I am 100% down with though and I am honestly excited about it!

As I mentioned before I love leopard print and now that it’s on trend it’s everywhere and I am in animal print heaven. I have several animal print outfits, but today I’m just going to talk about two pairs of leopard print shoes that I am currently loving. The first pair I have had since the Nordstrom sale and I posted them before but I just shared stock photos. I wanted to show them again in this post so you can see how I styled them, and the shoes I’m talking about are the leopard print mule by the brand Halogen. These are actually sold out right now, but if y’all want I can definitely tell you when they are back in stock. I think these are perfect for transitioning into fall because your toes are covered for those chilly evenings and they look so cute with cardigans which is what I paired mine with in these photos. The cardigan in the picture is actually the one I've talked about a bunch on my instagram from TopShop, the one from Nordstrom. I think these are perfect for traveling as well because they are easy to slip on and off and are stylish. I wore my Kora Fitness leggings with mine so they are great with leggings or jeans. I love wearing mine with black skinny jeans so you can see the mule since they are so cute. Keep checking this post or my shop tab to see if they are back in stock.

They next pair of shoes I just recently purchased and I love these too. These are a little pricey, but the great thing about on trend products is there are always dupes. Gap has a smilier pair that actually cost more, but you can get 40% off anything online or in store right now so I’ll go ahead and link those too. These booties are by the brand Sole Society and I got these at Nordstrom as well. Booties are always great for fall/winter and these go with so many outfits. Right now in Tennessee it has still been in the 80’s, which I’m not complaining about, but that means it’s still a little warm for cardigans. That is why why I paired these booties with shorts and a short sleeve shirt. I like to call this outfit “Tennessee Fall” attire. You can always add a cardigan to this outfit too if it’s cooler where you live. When I think of booties I always think fall and for some reason hats like these make me think of fall too. Quick story, I saw this hat advertised on my instagram from Gap and I thought it was so cute, so I saved it and ended up ordering it later. The shorts I bought when I went to Florida at a cute little boutique in Pier Park called The Florida House. I will link their Instagram here. I did’t buy the shorts to go with the hat or vise versa and they match perfectly! They are actually the same exact color and I am obsessed with the combo. Add in these super cute booties and you get my new favorite outfit!

Do y’all like shopping for items that are on trend or do you just buy what you like and if it happens to be on trend it’s on trend?

Greatest Romper Ever

Alicia Bice7 Comments

Y'all, I am OBSESSED with this romper! This is definitely my favorite purchase from the Nordstrom sale. This actually might be my favorite purchase ever! I was a little nervous about buying it because I ordered it online, so I didn't get to try it on. I normally have a hard time finding rompers that fit right because honestly, my booty usually hangs out, haha (#bigbootyproblems.) This one is a little shorter in the back, but since it has the lace overlay, that helps it look longer and it covers a little more.

I usually try to post items that are affordable for y'all, but this was a little bit of a splurge, and definitely worth it in my opinion! It helped getting it during the anniversary sale because I saved $28. I have noticed quite a few people also bought it, but I don't even care, it's that cute! I really wish I would have had this last year, because it would have been perfect for my wedding shower. Oh well, I will still wear it anyways. The only bad thing is it's about to be fall, so I won't have much longer to wear it. Thankfully I am going to the beach next month, so I will definitely be wearing it there.

In case you can't tell by the pictures, it has a nude lining in the front and the bottom part in the back, and the top of the back is just the lace. I love all the lace! I also just wore a regular bra with it. It was a nude one and you can't even see it. That is another thing I love about it because I hate strapless or special bras. It is no longer on sale and a little pricey, but if you want to check it out you can click on any of the pictures to shop the look. The shoes I have worn in another post, but they are from Target. I think they are a staple shoe because you can wear them with so much and they weren't expensive either. You can also shop them by clicking the pictures. Besides the few pair I got from the Nordstrom sale, I have been getting most of my shoes from Target lately. They are good quality and affordable!

Are y'all loving Targets new brands? Where is yall's favorite place to get shoes?

Little Black Dress

Alicia BiceComment

Y'all, I am obsessed with this black lace dress and the shoes too! I almost didn't get the shoes, but  I am so glad I did now. They will go with so much and I can dress them up or down. The best part about them is they came from Target! In my opinion they were a little high for Target, but I feel like they are getting better quality shoes and clothes now so I don't mind paying a little more. It is all still way cheaper than a lot of other places. The shoes were $27.99, which I guess is still pretty reasonable for shoes, I'm just being dramatic, haha. The dress is another piece I got from the boutique in Clarksville, The Copper Petal. I still haven't made it back to Clarksville to go to their store front yet. I need to really soon because it looks so cute inside, and they always have new items. Also, I am pretty sure that almost everything they sell is under $50, which is awesome for a boutique!

I love every single thing about this dress! The sleeves are beautiful and I love the lace! This would be so cute with a pair of red heels too. That's the great thing about black dresses, you can wear pretty much any color shoe you want! You could even throw on a pair of over the knee boots this fall. I think everybody needs some type of little black dress in their wardrobe. Not going to lie, I have several, but I think this one is hands down my favorite!

If you are not local to Clarksville they also have a website. I am also pretty sure if you see something they post on their instagram they can ship it to you if you comment or message them. They are usually pretty quick getting back to you! There is a reason they are my favorite booth in Miss Lucille's. They have the cutest clothes that are my style and they are very affordable! Definitely check them out and follow them to see new items!

Addicted to Jumpsuits

Alicia BiceComment

My name is Alicia and I am currently addicted to jumpsuits. I've always wanted a jumpsuit, but I didn't think they looked good on me. I also didn't think I could pull them off, but I have come to realize that I can't really do rompers anymore because my booty usually hangs out. At least I can't find any where it doesn't, so enter the jumpsuit. I'm seriously not kidding when I say I'm addicted. I currently have 5, 6 if you count the one I'm thinking of exchanging. I think they are great for summer since it's so hot outside, but inside restaurants and stores it's usually freezing, at least I am usually cold. They are also great at night since it's a little cooler at night right now. If you have been wanting a jumpsuit get one! They are in style right now, so you can find them pretty much anywhere. This one I got at that cute antique marketplace in Clarksville that I did my first shop local post on. It is from my favorite booth The Copper Petal. They actually announced a few days ago they are opening a store front boutique! I am so excited for them and I can't wait to see it! I will definitely share with y'all when it opens in case you are in the area! My shoes are from Target. I did some damage there a couple of weeks ago if you can't tell. Almost every post recently I have talked about something from Target. I can't help it, it's my favorite. The prices are great for a budget too! You can shop the shoes by clicking on the last picture or my shop tab, and I will link The Copper Petal website here and their instagram here.

Let me know if you are loving jumpsuits right now!

Frugal Friday: Gucci Dupe

Frugal FridayAlicia BiceComment

Who likes finding a good designer dupe? I know I do. Now I'm sure there are way better ones out there than what I can find, but this girl is on a budget. Ok, maybe budget isn't the right word, how about wanting to save money......on some things, haha.

I'm sure most of y'all have seen the Gucci slides that all the bloggers and instagramers have, well I found an awesome budget friendly or "money saving" dupe!  I will be honest, I haven't worn them for a long period because I just got them, but trying them on they seem comfortable. They of course aren't real leather like the Gucci ones, but I can definitely deal with that. They look so similar! The other difference is the white Gucci ones have gold hardware and the dupe has silver. The Gucci pair retails for $695 and the dupe is, wait for it....................................$30! As you can see it is a HUGE savings, and once again I got them from our favorite place, Target! They are the brand A New Day. I will post pictures below of the Target ones and the Gucci ones. The first picture will be Gucci, then Target. You can always shop most of the items in my posts by clicking the 'shop' tab or on this post you can click the picture. I will even link the Gucci ones in case you want to splurge or look at the resemblance.

I hope y'all like this dupe! Let me know if you are buying these or if you already have them and your thoughts!

Affordable Two Piece Outfit

Alicia BiceComment

Lately I have been loving two piece outfits! This one is so cute and so comfortable! You can also make this one festive by adding red lipstick like I did. This would also be super cute for the 4th of July. It would also be great at the beach, since it's so flowy and lightweight. It is high waisted shorts and a crop top, but what I love about this crop top is it's longer, so if you aren't comfortable showing your stomach you will love this one. I probably could have sized down in the top to make it a little more fitted, but I wanted it to be comfortable so I kept this size. It is also very affordable. That is probably my favorite part about it. Another great thing is I can wear a regular bra with it, it's the little things :). So many cute summer outfits you have to wear a strapless bra or the sticky boobs, so when I can wear a regular one, that's a win for me. I got this outfit at one of my favorite places and probably yours too, Target. In my opinion Target has always had cute clothes, but they have really stepped up their game. It is one of my favorite places to get clothes and shoes now. The other day I bought three pairs of shoes! I'm terrible, I know. Speaking of shoes, the shoes I wore with this outfit are on sale right now! I got them at Old Navy. They are actually pretty comfortable, and even though they are booties and a little hot for summer, now is a great time to get them since they are such a great price! If you want the direct link to the shoes or outfit you can click on either picture, or you can always shop my looks by clicking the shop tab at the top. Are y'all loving two piece outfits like this one?
